Reality TV Sucks

Am I the only person in the world who thinks this stuff has gone on too long? I admit I used to like Survivor but after the first couple of seasons, it got boring. Then reality tv moved on to the sleazy shows.

The Kardashians. Lindsay Lohan. Paris Hilton. OMG!

These people get rich off our nosiness. Why do we need to know the latest dirt on these bimbos? They're fleecing us. Sure, it's indirectly but because we watch, their sponsors are willing to give them big bucks and more air time.

Personally, I couldn't care less who they sleep with, whose baby they're having, what clothes they're wearing, what posh city they're visiting...or anything else. Do they have problems in their lives? Sure they do. But their problems come about by their own careless or selfish choices.

One mistake I can understand. Two or more? Hey, bimbos, learn a lesson. Don't keep making the same old mistakes and hope for a different outcome.

You're boring.

If we're to have reality tv, why not have it for someone worthy? Someone who makes a real, for the good of the country or mankind, difference? Even if they aren't artificially enhanced by surgery, they're just as beautiful as these folk. And far more deserving of our attention.

The Battle Plan

We've left behind most of our moral upbringing and that weakens us as a nation, a family and as an individual. In order to bring our nation back from the brink if disaster, we need a battle plan, one that will strengthen us internally.

The Bible is God's battle plan. Study it, know it, live it. Go to church. Help strengthen your soul and fortify your family. It's the family that will make this nation strong again. There's still time but don't wait too long. Our enemies are relentless and have already spread their doctrines of hate and disbelief.

Eph.6:10-18

[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Great quote!

Another great quote from Calvin Coolidge: We do not need more material development, we need more spiritual development. We do not need more intellectual power, we need more moral power. We do not need more knowledge, we need more character. We do not need more government, we need more culture. We do not need more law, we need more religion. We do not need more of the things that are seen, we need more of the things that are unseen. It is on that side of life that it is desirable to put the emphasis at the present time. If that side is strengthened, the other side will take care of itself. It is that side which is the foundation of all else. If the foundation be firm, the superstructure will stand. (The Price of Freedom, Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1924, p. 390.)
Now...I will say I partly disagree with the line that says "we do not need more knowledge". We do need knowledge (and CHARACTER). Without knowledge, we are unable to fight our enemies. Without knowledge, we are unable to foresee what is coming. Without knowledge, we are unable to protect ourselves.

Our intellectual and moral enemies will use it every time to beat us down. It behooves us to use it to keep them at bay. Knowledge is important. It is a tool to be used wisely.

A Lovely Song for Those Who Believe

Ace of Base's former member, Jenny Berggren, was attacked by a crazed fan, and realized fame and fortune wasn't all that it's cracked-up to be. This is a very rare trait among pop music stars. Unfortunately, Lady Gag Me will never ask for forgiveness for her blasphemy and will soak the masses for their last dollar all the while calling us, the United States and the people who want to keep it free, evil. I imagine it takes one to know one, Ms Gag Me (sorry, you're no lady)

Enjoy!

OMG The Sky Is Falling!

When Japan suffered that first tragic earthquake last month, the news media was all over it...even going so far as to send their normally chair bound talking heads over to experience the devastation first hand. Now? Hardly a mention.

When the government was threatened with a 'OMG The Sky Is Falling' government shut down last week, the news was filled with panic stricken talking heads desperately trying to blame the Republicans or, worse, the Tea Party for wanting to attain a balanced budget that our children and grandchildren won't have to struggle to pay for. Now they've moved on to other things...like the deficit ceiling (another potential 'OMGTSIF). Tomorrow, it'll be some other adrenaline inducing, shock story or fluff piece like Charlie Sheen's mental breakdown.

Of course, the lame stream media full of left wing socialists and George Soros a$$ lickers isn't only to blame. Neither is the single right wing conservative news station. No, they all stand out there, kicking their legs up, skirts flying as they do the wicked can-can to grab all the attention they can get.

But is it their fault they do this? Or is it the fault of the average American who's attention span ranges between 5 and 20 seconds?

I submit it's BOTH. When all we get are sound bites flavored with personal prejudices or prostituted opinions, our natural instinct is to shrug it off. That leads the media, on both sides, to believe we're too stupid to 'get it'. We're not. We are however too lazy to dig past the sound bites or the personal prejudices or the bought and paid for opinions to get the truth that is hidden from us.

We let them feed us pablum; we let them treat us like children. Ignorant children. But they forget. Children grow and their teeth will come in. The media and its puppetmasters may one day find those teeth sunk deep in their backsides. Deservedly so.

When it happens, they'll get no apology.

Is Obama Channeling Marie Antoinette?

Is Obama channeling Marie Antoinette? You have to wonder. He tells us to get rid of our vehicles that only get 8 miles/gallon, that we can't expect to keep our houses at a comfortable temperature in the winter, that we just need to eat less and everything will be fine. Does that sound vaguely 'third world country' to anybody but me?

But let's think about what he said... Don't drive as much. Get rid of your gas-guzzler... ie Buy a new VERY expensive hybrid or electric car ("Under my plan, the cost of electricity would necessarily sky-rocket.")?

And are you supposed to do it on minimum wage? Or Unemployment? Or the reduced wages many have been forced to take because our elected officials have encouraged big companies to produce goods overseas (thereby enriching those nations and making us poor).

Oh, and rising gas prices affect more than just the ability to fill up your gas tank and go for a spin. The cost of food, clothing, house utilities, is going to sky-rocket as well. So, even if you have a job, the amount of money you have left over from paying ESSENTIAL bills is going to be reduced. Even the cost of non-essential things that many of us have become accustomed to (cell service, land lines, cable tv and internet to name a few) will sky rocket.

Is that part of Mr. Marie Antoinette's plan too? It appears to be.

I'm looking for the rest of the clip I originally heard from Mr. Obama and will post it when I find it...if his minions haven't already scrubbed it from the web.

The Left's Economic Terrorism Playbook: Coalition too Destroy US Capital...

Okay, dumba$$es, if you take down the economy, what's going to happen to your pensions? Your savings? The cash in your pocket?

Are you really that stupid to want to do something like this? To crash the American stock markets? To destroy our way of life so that you can live the Socialist Dream?

Think about it. How do the bulk of socialist/communists peoples live? In splendor? Guess again. With the exception of a few elite at the top of the food chain, the rest of them are simply slave labor.

I hope we have one or two honest, patriots still in government who will take this as a warning and lock your commie butts in jail for planning this economic terrorism. With any luck, they'll lose the key.

Rain Today but Tomorrow Might Be Sunny

With the way the economy is heading, rising gas and food prices expected to skyrocket, and with the inept government in charge (tax the rich always means tax everybody but them and their buddies), I figure it's time to start doing what I can to make sure my family is taken care of.

Among other things, I'll be using this blog to track my garden.

Just so you know, I'm a Patriotic, Conservative, Christian Wife and Mother. I believe in God, family, and standing on your own two legs as much as possible. If I happen to say something that offends your sensibilities, you're welcome to politely comment or go elsewhere to seek validation. You won't get it here. If you want to discuss something I've said, feel free but only do it in a civilized and polite manner. If you can't do that, you're welcome to keep your mouth shut or go elsewhere to find validation.

I may be mistaken about some things and I welcome the chance to learn. But again I do not want to see any self-serving insults based on my posts, my character (which you don't know), my faith, or my family.

I am generally a happy person, easy to get along with, fairly creative and somewhat educated. I have a great sense of humor (at least I think so but humor is subjective so you might not agree). That's okay. You don't have to agree with everything I say.

That's part of what makes America great.
